The Ministry of Health of Jujuy announced on March 30 that it is continuing its efforts to remove discarded items in the capital as part of a campaign to reduce mosquito breeding sites and strengthen prevention against chikungunya. The ministry said these actions are being carried out consistently in local neighborhoods, with direct intervention in everyday environments and a focus on improving living conditions, especially in areas where control measures need to be intensified.
According to the ministry, removing unused containers that can collect water is an important step in breaking the mosquito’s life cycle. Community participation is considered essential for maintaining safer and healthier spaces.
These activities are part of a broader health response that includes epidemiological surveillance, targeted control measures, and collaboration with municipalities. The approach prioritizes proximity, accessibility, and collective care. On Monday, scrap removal took place in Barrio Santa Rita.
The schedule for upcoming scrap removal operations begins at 8:30 a.m., with work planned for Tuesday, March 31 at APS Hospital Snopek (Sector B5) and Wednesday, April 1 at CAPS La Viña (Barrio Chijra). The ministry emphasizes that these ongoing efforts aim to improve public health by reducing risks associated with mosquito-borne diseases.
