Nine municipalities in Jujuy province have been selected to participate in the national program “Promover Verano en Argentina.” This initiative, led by the national government, aims to finance projects that promote tourism, encourage innovation, and advance digital transformation in local tourism offerings.
The selection process involved collaboration between the national government, the Government of Jujuy—specifically its Ministry of Culture and Tourism—and local municipal authorities. These groups worked together to develop proposals designed to enhance local tourism development through digital tools and strategic promotional actions.
Approval for these projects was confirmed by the Secretariat of Tourism and Environment within the Cabinet Office of Ministers. The announcement came from Pablo Cagnoni, National Director of Development and Promotion.
The nine municipalities receiving funding are: Abra Pampa ($9.5 million ARS for digital transformation), Cusi Cusi ($11.5 million ARS for digital transformation), El Carmen ($13 million ARS for digital promotion), El Fuerte ($14 million ARS for digital transformation), Humahuaca ($13 million ARS for digital promotion), Maimará ($9.5 million ARS for digital transformation), Monterrico ($13 million ARS for digital promotion), San Antonio ($7 million ARS for digital transformation), and Santa Clara ($13 million ARS for digital transformation).
These funds will support projects developed by each municipality with technical assistance and institutional coordination. The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of destinations in Jujuy and create new opportunities for local development.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Jujuy emphasized: “This joint work reflects a federal and collaborative approach to tourism, reaffirming our commitment to continue supporting municipalities in managing and implementing public policies that foster sustainable, inclusive tourism with territorial identity.”
