Jujuy presented its international tourism offerings to agencies and operators from Uruguay during the Visit Argentina Workshop in Montevideo, according to an April 9 announcement. The event focused on showcasing Jujuy’s natural experiences, the Solar Train of Quebrada, and the province’s cultural diversity.
The initiative aims to strengthen Jujuy’s position as a competitive destination in northern Argentina. Tourism Secretary Diego Valdecantos said that the Uruguayan market is a priority due to its proximity and consumer profile. “Notamos una demanda creciente por productos que combinen la sostenibilidad con la identidad, y ahà Jujuy saca una ventaja clara con su oferta turÃstica y diversidad cultural,” Valdecantos said. He also added that the goal is for Montevideo agencies to include Jujuy not only as a stopover but as a central part of their northwestern Argentina circuits.
During the workshop, strategic promotional agreements were reached with Uruguayan partners to encourage year-round visitation. Local business representatives highlighted that their clients especially value Jujuy’s gastronomy and landscapes in Quebrada, creating opportunities for increased bookings outside traditional summer or winter high seasons.
This mission in Montevideo builds on recent promotional activities by Jujuy throughout the region aimed at attracting high-impact travelers. With an offering less dependent on seasonality, provincial officials hope to establish Jujuy as one of northern Argentina’s leading destinations for international visitors.
