The province of Jujuy has reached a total of 25 organ and tissue procurement procedures since the beginning of 2026, according to an April 2 announcement. The latest operations included four new procedures carried out at Hospital Pablo Soria, with one initiated at Hospital San Roque. These activities took place in both public and private healthcare settings.
The increase in procurement efforts aims to expand access to transplants for people of all ages facing critical health situations. Among the recent cases, two were classified as multi-organ procurements, which are considered highly complex due to the number of medical teams involved and the level of coordination required. Such interventions demand precise timing and organization to maximize each donation opportunity.
According to the National Central Single Coordinator Institute for Procurement and Implantation (INCUCAI), which oversees Argentina’s organ donation system, transplantation is a well-established practice that often represents the only life-saving option for individuals with severe or inherited diseases or injuries.
Organ and tissue donation is described as a social commitment that directly impacts transplant recipients’ lives while strengthening solidarity values within the community.
