The province of Jujuy has completed four new organ and tissue donation procedures at Hospital Pablo Soria, including one that began at Hospital San Roque, according to an April 2 announcement. This brings the total number of such operations in the province to 25 since the beginning of 2026, covering both public and private healthcare settings.
This increase in procedures expands access to transplants for people of all ages facing critical health situations. Of these recent interventions, two were multi-organ donations. These are complex operations due to the number of teams involved and the level of coordination required to ensure each stage is performed efficiently.
The Instituto Nacional Central Único Coordinador de Ablación e Implante states that transplantation of tissues, organs, or human cells is a well-established practice and often represents the only alternative for saving lives in cases of severe diseases or injuries.
Organ and tissue donation is described as an act of social commitment with a direct impact on recipients’ lives while strengthening values such as solidarity within the community.
For more information about organ donation, residents can contact CUCAIJUY (Centro Único Coordinador de Ablación e Implante de Jujuy) at Güemes 1360 in San Salvador de Jujuy from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., or by phone at 4221228.
