Jujuy has achieved strong results in its 2026 flu vaccination campaign, with health officials reporting on Apr. 7 that the province leads in coverage for children aged 6 to 24 months and has met targets for healthcare workers and pregnant women.
The progress of the campaign is important as it aims to protect groups most at risk from influenza. Authorities say efforts are ongoing, especially among older adults, while awaiting additional vaccine supplies.
Minister of Health José Manzur said, “We must reinforce vaccination among older adults where we have a large number, but we are waiting for more doses to arrive in the province from the national government.” Manzur also said that “the province always has good coverage and is recognized nationally for making vaccines available at every health post and through Jujuy’s Primary Care team vaccinating house by house.”
According to recent data, Jujuy has administered a total of 23,943 flu vaccines so far: 5,474 to healthcare personnel (47.46% coverage), 14,556 to older adults (18.2%), 1,451 to pregnant women (34.44%), and 2,462 to children between six and twenty-four months old (29.22% coverage).
Health teams expect a shipment of an additional 80,579 flu vaccine doses for Jujuy soon in order to meet their immunization goals.
