The province of Jujuy reported on Apr. 4 that more than 20,000 visitors arrived during the recent Easter weekend, resulting in a significant boost to the local economy. According to data from the Tourist Observatory, these arrivals generated an economic impact exceeding 5.023 billion pesos.
Tourism officials said that there were a total of 53,773 overnight stays with an average stay of 2.67 nights per visitor and daily spending surpassing $93,000 per person. The results are attributed in part to promotional efforts carried out weeks earlier in Buenos Aires and Córdoba under the campaign “Devoción en las Alturas”.
Regional occupancy rates were led by Quebrada at 87.7 percent, followed by Valles at 75.1 percent, Yungas at 69.5 percent, and Puna at 61.5 percent. Visitors experienced cultural traditions such as ancestral rites and faith-based events alongside regional cuisine.
Officials also noted that this activity benefited various sectors including hotels, small businesses, and local artisans. The Ministry is continuing its efforts to promote Jujuy’s destinations for the upcoming winter season with expectations for further growth based on diverse offerings and service quality.
The Solar Train of Quebrada reached full occupancy throughout the weekend on both its routes—180° experience or 360° experience.
