The government of Jujuy province has signed a strategic agreement with Guizhou province in China, marking a new phase in international cooperation on lithium development. Jujuy Energía y Minería Sociedad del Estado (JEMSE) played a key role in this initiative, which aims to strengthen the province’s position within the global lithium industry.
The agreement involves an investment from CNGR, a major company in the lithium value chain. The foreign capital is intended to support both the industrialization of lithium at its source and generate employment and development for local communities.
Officials highlighted that participating in such international alliances ensures economic growth aligns with high standards of social and environmental responsibility in sustainable mining.
By partnering with entities like Guizhou and CNGR, Jujuy seeks to establish itself as an important site for responsible lithium investment. According to statements released, “Together, we are building a future where the use of our mineral resources means progress, opportunities, and sustainability for all people in Jujuy, reaffirming our commitment to the global energy transition.”
