In February, the Ministry of Education, through the Directorate of Early Childhood Education, implemented the Jurisdictional Strengthening Plan. The initiative aimed to support and sustain the educational progress of children aged 4 to 7.
The plan was carried out by early childhood and arts teachers in various schools across the province. It involved 110 students from all educational regions. According to the Ministry, this approach became an important educational policy with a strong presence throughout the territory.
The program provided activities before the start of the school year and encouraged ongoing learning. It focused on reinforcing basic literacy and math skills, along with artistic, musical, and physical experiences. The Ministry stated: “The proposal was a strategic opportunity to create safe, meaningful, and playful educational spaces that promote reconnection with school and strengthen fundamental learning in initial literacy and mathematics, integrated with artistic, musical, and physical experiences.”
The plan also sought to reinforce knowledge acquired previously while emphasizing the school’s role as a place for teaching, care, and inclusion. As noted by officials: “In this way, it not only offered activities prior to the start of the school year but also promoted pedagogical continuity, recovering previously worked knowledge and reaffirming the sense of school as a space for teaching, care, and inclusion. This Plan was a comprehensive proposal that broadened cultural horizons and strengthened commitment to education and child care throughout the jurisdiction.”
