La Quiaca community supports refurbishment project for Escuela de Comercio Nº 1

The Ministry of Education held an informational meeting at Escuela de Comercio Nº 1 “República Argentina” in La Quiaca to present the General Refurbishment and Expansion Project for the secondary school. The initiative is part of the Programa de Mejora del Acceso y la Calidad Educativa (PROMACE – CAF II).

Community members, local authorities, neighborhood institutions, and families attended the meeting to support the project. According to officials, their participation reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening public education.

During the event, technical details of the project were presented and an agreement was signed to move forward with construction work.

Attendees included Julio Alarcón, Secretary of Socio-Educational Policies; Mariana Brandán, General Director of CAF Works; Maite Durruty, Deputy Director of CAF Works; Miguel Liquín, Secondary Level Supervisor; and Carla Galián, Director of Student Welfare. Dante Velázquez, Mayor of La Quiaca, participated alongside local officials and members of the City Council.

Also present were Deputy Alejandra Elías; José Luis Cruz, School Principal; Patricia Apaza, President of the School Cooperative; student council members; representatives from neighborhood centers; and other community organizations.
