Starting March 3, residents in La Quiaca can book appointments for pediatrics and general medicine at the “Dr. Jorge Uro” Hospital by calling the health Call Center at 0800 777 7711. The service is available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., allowing patients to choose their preferred doctor, date, and time.

The Ministry of Health of Jujuy announced this new measure as part of efforts to improve access to healthcare services. According to the Ministry, “strengthening strategies that facilitate access to different services,” is a key priority. The telephone booking system aims to streamline appointment scheduling, reduce in-person visits, and make healthcare more accessible.

This initiative aligns with the province’s Strategic Health Plan II, which focuses on improving efficiency and community access to medical care.

For those unable to book by phone, in-person appointment scheduling remains available at the Statistics Area of the Hospital de La Quiaca for both specialties.

In addition to pediatrics and general medicine, the hospital recently expanded telephone booking for mental health services. Patients can now request appointments for psychology at Hospital Uro or local health centers by calling the same number during business hours. Assistance is also offered through Mental Health and Addictions Units (USMA) in La Quiaca.
