The Centenario Plaza in La Quiaca was the venue for a new Interactive Literary Plaza, an event organized by the Ministerio de Educación de Jujuy. The initiative aimed to promote reading, strengthen literacy, and showcase educational projects from regional schools. Seven institutions participated, involving more than 3,000 students and 250 teachers.
During the event, different grades presented works and experiences related to reading itineraries. Some of the featured presentations included “La Brujita Golosina,” “Manka Fiesta,” “Jujuy te quiero, te conozco,” “Soy jujeño y soñador,” and the Fifth Grade Author Reading Itinerary with texts by Mario Fidel Tolaba and Horacio Quiroga. Interdisciplinary projects were also displayed on topics such as microenterprises, financial education, recycling, artistic production, puppet making, and musical performances featuring regional repertoire.
A notable initiative was “El Poder de los Dioses en la Lectura,” presented by sixth- and seventh-grade students. This project uses Greek mythology to strengthen reading comprehension and expand vocabulary. Teachers who accompanied the activity said: “These spaces allow reading to be experienced creatively and enable schools to share their work throughout the year.”
The Ministerio de Educación highlighted the commitment of school leaders, teachers, families, and students. They stated that activities like this reinforce efforts toward literacy at a local level. “Each production presented reflects collective effort and the central role of reading in our children’s education,” they emphasized.
The event saw strong community participation and recognized the work of educational institutions that continue building meaningful learning spaces across the province through innovative proposals.
