A 60-year-old man who had been the subject of an intense search in Perico was found dead on Friday, April 6, in the El Cadillal area.
Authorities began a search operation on Thursday, April 2, after a report was filed regarding the disappearance of Hugo Gallardo. From that point, various special divisions were deployed to cover areas that are difficult to access.
The body was eventually located by search teams about 500 meters from where Gallardo was last seen, in a section known as El Cadillal.
According to initial information gathered by investigators, it is believed that the man suffered a fall which led to his death.
This incident comes amid other recent reports of missing persons and security incidents in the region.
