Argentina recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of new motorcycles in March, with a total of 79,115 units registered, according to an April 1 announcement from the Division of Motorcycles at the Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (ACARA).
This figure surpassed the previous record set in 2017 and reflects a sustained period of growth for the sector. The increase marks a 54.8% rise compared to March last year, when 51,117 units were sold. Compared to February this year, sales rose by 11.6%.
Growth was also seen over the first quarter of 2026. In that period, registrations reached 218,772 motorcycles—a jump of 44.4% compared to the same timeframe last year.
Low-displacement motorcycles drove much of this surge as they have become increasingly popular as work vehicles and affordable transportation options. In March alone, this segment accounted for more than 77,000 units sold—an annual increase above fifty percent—while scooter sales also grew by nearly one-third.
Honda led brand rankings with nearly fifteen thousand registrations during March. Motomel and Gilera followed closely behind. The Honda Wave 110S remained Argentina’s top-selling model with more than seven thousand five hundred units sold and almost doubled its volume from a year earlier.
The strong performance suggests ongoing demand for accessible and practical motorbikes among Argentine consumers.
