Minister of Health José Manzur visited Hospital Guillermo C. Paterson and the Ramón Ortega Primary Health Care Center in the Patricios neighborhood of San Pedro as part of a work agenda on March 12. The visit included meetings with hospital authorities, union representatives, and tours through different areas of the facilities to assess current conditions, ongoing improvements, and needs for strengthening community healthcare services.
These visits are part of a broader territorial agenda aimed at supporting health teams across the province and planning further enhancements. Manzur said, “Estamos recorriendo los hospitales y puestos de salud de la provincia para observar cómo se está trabajando, qué servicios se están brindando y cuáles son las necesidades. La salud es una tarea dinámica que requiere atención permanente sobre la infraestructura, el recurso humano y el fortalecimiento de los servicios.”
During his time in San Pedro, Manzur also met with Mayor Julio Bravo to discuss joint efforts between the municipality and the Ministry of Health. He said, “Queremos agradecer al intendente porque ya estamos encarando acciones conjuntas entre el municipio y el Ministerio para avanzar en la refacción de puestos de salud que lo necesitan, siempre con el objetivo de mejorar la accesibilidad y la calidad de atención para la comunidad.”
The visit included the delivery of computers to support health teams and advance digital medical records implementation. Manzur highlighted that “existe una decisión firme del Gobierno de la provincia de continuar invirtiendo en infraestructura, tecnología y equipamiento sanitario. Próximamente estaremos incorporando nuevo equipamiento para los puestos de salud y reforzando especialmente la Atención Primaria de la Salud.”
Among identified priorities for Hospital Paterson are reorganizing emergency services and improving equipment in specific departments to optimize daily care for residents in the Ramal area.
The Ministry is also continuing efforts to monitor and prevent mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya through vector control activities, community awareness campaigns, and epidemiological surveillance.
Additionally, progress was noted regarding a new medical degree program set to begin on Monday the 16th in Jujuy province. This initiative aims to strengthen local professional training and contribute to long-term development of public healthcare.
