The Ministerio de Desarrollo Humano announced on Mar. 27 that it has carried out a comprehensive operation to provide care and support for people participating in the traditional pilgrimage to Punta Corral.
This initiative aims to ensure safety and assistance for all attendees during this significant religious event. The ministry coordinated territorial teams stationed at key points such as Tumbaya and Tunalito, where assistance spaces were set up to help pilgrims during both their ascent and descent.
Technical teams focused on guiding participants and promoting safe practices, with an emphasis on preventing risky situations. As part of these efforts, the ministry implemented an identification bracelet system for children, adolescents, older adults, and people with disabilities. This measure is intended to prevent individuals from getting lost and allows for quick intervention if needed.
The operation was carried out in coordination with provincial agencies and members of the Comité Operativo de Emergencias (COE), ensuring an inter-institutional approach designed to deliver immediate responses in the field.
Additionally, registered sikuris bands received supplies from the SecretarÃa de Cultura as part of efforts to strengthen one of the most representative cultural expressions associated with this celebration.
