The Ministerio de Desarrollo Humano released on March 30 a summary of its efforts during the Punta Corral operation, emphasizing the implementation of a comprehensive plan aimed at ensuring care, prevention, and assistance throughout the pilgrimage.

The ministry maintained a continuous presence in key locations such as Tumbaya and Tunalito through technical teams that provided direct support, guidance, and assistance to pilgrims. These teams focused on preventive strategies including constant hydration, support for families, and aid for older adults to prioritize safety and well-being.

More than 300 registrations of older adults and over 1,000 registrations of children were recorded using identification bracelets as a preventive measure. This approach was intended to reduce risks related to missing persons and enable quick response by field teams.

The ministry highlighted inter-institutional coordination as an important part of the operation. According to officials, this cooperation allowed resources to be optimized and interventions coordinated in order to provide comprehensive responses to emerging needs in the area.

Officials from the ministry said that such operations not only offer immediate solutions but also strengthen a management model based on active state presence, coordinated work among institutions, and upholding rights in situations with large gatherings. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening territorial strategies that anticipate risks, improve operational capacity, and consolidate public policies focused on community care.
