The Ministry of Education has launched the 2026 Territorial Educational Articulation Program, aiming to strengthen collaboration with local governments. The program was introduced by Minister of Education Daniela Teseira during a forum with mayors and municipal commissioners at the Ministerial Complex on January 7.
The initiative is designed to formalize and operationalize strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Education and municipalities. Its goals include ensuring access to education in safe and quality environments, improving infrastructure, providing pedagogical support, and connecting education with employment opportunities.
Minister Teseira presented her team of professionals at the event and highlighted her commitment to working directly in communities. “This Monday I began visiting schools in Region IV. I want you to feel the presence of the Ministry of Education from the very beginning, supporting and responding to each need,” she said.
She also announced that refurbishment and remodeling projects for educational buildings will resume, prioritizing those in greatest disrepair. “The works will be reactivated. Those underway and funded by CAF and BCIE will continue, and additional interventions will be added as needed for each institution,” stated Teseira.
To facilitate these improvements, a tripartite agreement is proposed among the Ministries of Finance, Education, and local governments to begin work before the start of the school year.
Minister Teseira also introduced the PUENTES Program—previously implemented in San Pedro—which will now expand across other regions.
Local leaders welcomed this meeting as it recognizes their role within their communities. They committed to continue creating suitable learning spaces for all students in the province.
