The Ministry of Education, through the Secretariat of Socio-Educational Policies, has officially recognized the “Semana de la Tradición” and the Provincial and National Paisana Selection as being of Educational Interest. This recognition highlights their cultural, educational, and social contributions to promoting Jujuy’s identity and traditional values.
At a formal event, Julio Alarcón, Secretary of Socio-Educational Policies, presented Ministerial Resolution No. 8924-E-25 to Marcelo Mendoza, president of the Federación Gaucha Jujeña. Alarcón emphasized the Ministry’s support for initiatives that strengthen identity, culture, and civic engagement among young people.
According to organizers, this celebration provides an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of traditions as part of cultural and educational heritage. The event aims to foster pride in local roots among children and youth while encouraging the transmission of shared community values.
As part of the activities, technical staff from the Secretariat and the Directorate of Student Welfare created a space called “Tradiciones que cuidan y abrazan.” This initiative was designed for young contestants and their families or close circles. It focused on topics such as family support, positive interactions, empathy, and respect.
The event also featured Fátima Sosa—artist and Provincial Paisana 2019—who addressed participants with encouragement: “I urge you all to represent your gaucho centers and communities with pride, commitment, and love for our culture.”
Through this initiative, the Ministry reiterated its commitment to policies that protect children and youth while strengthening their educational paths. The aim is also to promote their active role in Jujuy’s cultural and social life.
