The Ministry of Health of Jujuy announced on Mar. 28 that over 600 people accessed health check-ups and services during March as part of ongoing outreach efforts coordinated with the provincial government and local municipalities. The initiative included a series of community health events in neighborhoods such as Malvinas, Loteo Bárcena, Yala, and Alto Comedero.
These activities were organized to coincide with key dates like International Women’s Day and World Kidney Day. According to the ministry, the aim was to expand access to preventive care, provide advice, and facilitate medical services close to where residents live.
Health teams offered a range of services at each event. These included counseling for adolescents and sexually transmitted infections, diabetes and hypertension screenings, dental care, HIV and syphilis testing, maternal and child health consultations, mental health support, disability guidance, indigenous health resources, and healthy eating advice.
Recreational spaces were also set up to encourage physical activity as an important tool for well-being. The ministry said these activities help strengthen community participation in preventive healthcare.
A new session called “Baila con Salud” is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at Multiespacio El Alto in Alto Comedero neighborhood from 5 p.m., open free of charge to all residents. Attendees are encouraged to bring water bottles and hats.
