The Municipality presented a new Guide to Trees and Shrubs at the Municipal Botanical Park on March 29. The material, developed by the Municipality, gathers information about native species found along the park’s trails.
Adriana DÃaz, Secretary of Planning and Environment, said that releasing this guide was an outstanding commitment to visitors. “It is a guide that people were asking for because they want access to technical information beyond what is on the signs. It is a purely municipal product, created by our teams,” DÃaz said.
DÃaz also said that the material will be useful for both tourists and local residents interested in learning about the biodiversity of the yungas region. She added that the guide complements a model of the park where species can be located and confirmed it will be available in the ‘Ciudad Verde’ section of the municipal website.
Marcela Gaspar, director of the park, highlighted her team’s technical work and explained that while work began years ago, it resumed in 2025. “It is an achievement because we managed to compile 27 native species present in the park into a guide accessible to everyone,” Gaspar said.
Ricardo JoaquÃn, who participated in developing the project, celebrated its completion and said it would help visitors learn not only about plant species but also about their environmental benefits. Brenda Cabezas added that their goal was to create an easy-to-read tool: “We wanted anyone to understand it. It is an educational resource that reinforces the park’s mission.”
The guide will be available free through a QR code distributed on social media and throughout different points in the park.
