Netflix announced on Apr. 9 that it will release a new documentary titled “Perfecta: La voz de Silvina Luna,” focusing on the life of Argentine model and actress Silvina Luna. The film aims to offer an intimate and personal account of Luna’s career, her rise in the entertainment industry, and her struggles with health issues in recent years.
The documentary is expected to provide viewers with previously unseen footage recorded by Luna herself. According to Netflix, she initiated the project so she could share her story firsthand and shed light on the physical, emotional, and social effects of her experiences.
In addition to chronicling her biography, the production will address both medical and legal challenges that marked Luna’s later years. It will also explore broader cultural debates around beauty standards and societal pressures regarding body image.
Luna passed away at age 43 on August 31, 2023 after several months of hospitalization due to complications from cosmetic surgery performed in 2011. The procedure involved injections of biopolymers or methacrylate into her body, which later caused severe health problems including kidney failure and repeated hospitalizations.
“Perfecta: La voz de Silvina Luna” is scheduled for release in 2027 as part of Netflix’s lineup of original productions from Argentina.
