The Ministry of Economic Development and Production, together with the Purmamarca municipality led by Humberto López and Sebastián Luna, Operations Manager of the Quebrada Solar Train, inaugurated a new pedestrian and productive bridge in Tunalito on March 27.
The bridge aims to improve connectivity in the area for both local producers and thousands of pilgrims who travel each year to the sanctuary of the Virgen de Punta Corral. The provincial government said that this infrastructure ensures a safe crossing over the river, which is especially important during periods when pilgrimage activity increases along with local production.
According to officials, construction was completed within 20 days with active participation from residents. Beyond its role in religious tourism, the bridge is expected to support local development by making it easier for children to reach their schools and allowing producers to transport their harvests from nearby gardens.
Authorities highlighted that this project responds directly to growing needs linked to both community life and economic activity in Tunalito. They also emphasized that public works like this are designed not only for immediate benefit but as investments into long-term regional growth.
The completion of this project follows other recent infrastructure announcements in Jujuy province.
