A 44-year-old nurse was found dead in his apartment surrounded by hospital-grade anesthetics, according to an April 3 report. The discovery comes after doctors Hernán Boveri and Delfina “Fini” Lanusse were charged in a related case.

The nurse, originally from the province of Entre Ríos, was located after his family lost contact with him on Monday. Investigators who entered the home found more than 50 vials of propofol and fentanyl distributed in the kitchen. These substances are strictly controlled and not available for sale in pharmacies, which suggests they were stolen from healthcare facilities.

The man’s body was discovered in the living room with multiple injection marks on his arms. This detail supports the theory that he administered the drugs to himself using syringes. Authorities are now working to determine whether he was alone at the time of death or if someone else assisted him. Experts say it is difficult to self-administer such doses without help because manual ventilation is often needed due to deep sedation caused by propofol.

Sources involved in the investigation said, “Es muy complejo pensar que haya estado solo,” but so far there is no clear evidence that others were present when he died.

This case bears similarities to the death of anesthesiologist Alejandro Zalazar and may be linked to a network of professionals participating in clandestine sedation parties known as “Propo Fest.” The justice system is now investigating possible connections between this nurse and Boveri-Lanusse, as well as whether the drugs found came from batches already under scrutiny.
