The Ministry of Health of Jujuy announced on Mar. 28 that more than 600 people received health checks and services during March through community outreach activities. These efforts aimed to strengthen access to healthcare for people of all ages across several neighborhoods.
The initiative was carried out as part of ongoing work by the Promotion and Prevention Board, in coordination with the Government of Jujuy and local municipalities. Health events took place in Malvinas, Loteo Bárcena, Yala, and Alto Comedero neighborhoods, directly impacting residents’ quality of life.
These interventions coincided with important dates such as International Women’s Day and World Kidney Day. They helped expand coverage for medical checks, provided counseling, and made it easier for residents to access health services close to home. The ministry said these actions support prevention efforts and comprehensive community care.
During each event, health teams offered a range of services including advice on adolescence and sexually transmitted infections, diabetes and hypertension screenings, dental care, HIV and syphilis testing, maternity and childhood counseling, mental health support, disability guidance, indigenous health consultations, and healthy eating information. Recreational spaces were also set up to encourage physical activity as a key tool for well-being.
A new “Baila con Salud” session is scheduled for Saturday Mar. 28 at Multiespacio El Alto in the Alto Comedero neighborhood from 5 p.m., open free of charge to the entire community. Attendees are encouraged to bring water bottles and hats.
