The city of Palpalá will host the Phygital Cup of NOA on May 9 and 10, bringing together traditional football and digital competition. The event will take place at the Estadio OlĂmpico in Palpalá, where well-known teams and public figures such as Benja Calero and Yeyo De Gregorio are expected to participate.
Organized by Jujuy Phygital and the Argentine Association of Electronic Sports and Video Games (DEVA), the event aims to unite gaming with sports. Organizers say that this approach offers a more complete experience for spectators by blending live action on the field with digital elements.
Tickets are available through Ticket Pass on its official website. Among those participating are influencer Benja Calero and actor Yeyo De Gregorio, who will join invited teams like DOU FC and Actores FC. These teams will compete against two local squads from Jujuy, which will be determined through a preliminary qualification process.
The event highlights a growing trend worldwide that merges athletic performance with technology. Phygital is described as a hybrid discipline combining physical effort in real environments, such as playing fields, with performance in simulators or video games. Both results contribute to determining the winner.
Additionally, phygital events aim to enhance spectator experience using real-time data layers like augmented reality, integrating athletes, fans, and technology into one connected ecosystem.
