Residents of Alto Comedero continued maintenance and cleaning efforts for green spaces and avenues in the area, according to an April 11 announcement. Activities included work along Undiano Avenue and the green space near the 300 Homes of Banco Hipotecario, where trees were planted after clearing weeds to improve safety for pedestrians.
These initiatives are aimed at keeping the city clean and in harmony with nature. Weed removal was also carried out in the area known as Las 10 Hectáreas to prevent snakes from appearing and to improve access to a local bus shelter. The new neighborhood center committee led these operations, focusing on making crossings safer for residents traveling through the area. Although participation was limited, organizers said they would continue their efforts in coming days with goals that include preventing mosquito breeding, reducing snake sightings, and minimizing other risks.
In another community event, Cerro Las Rosas hosted a creative exhibition during Holy Week featuring handmade displays representing each of the fourteen Stations of the Cross. Local organizations, therapeutic institutions, and volunteer groups contributed by using seeds, roots, flowers, and dried leaves as materials for their artwork. Residents from various parts of the city visited this respectful display which fostered community bonds through shared faith.
Meanwhile in Punta Diamante neighborhood, a well-attended community lottery event helped raise funds to support internal operations at a local institution. Organizers thanked participants for their contributions both through ticket sales and organizational efforts. They highlighted that such activities help build stronger unity among neighbors.
