Governor Carlos Sadir met with mayors from the Valles region on April 8 to discuss the importance of strengthening public policies in various areas, aiming to improve living conditions for residents.
The meeting focused on key topics such as education and security. Minister of Government, Justice, Human Rights and Labor Normando Álvarez García said the gathering was intended to reaffirm a commitment to working closely with local communities and listening to the concerns of mayors who represent them. Álvarez García said, “the meeting was held to reaffirm the commitment to work close to the people and listen to the concerns of the mayors, who represent their communities.”
He also highlighted that these meetings are important for addressing ongoing proposals and projects, as well as showing Governor Sadir’s commitment to solving issues raised by local leaders. Álvarez García announced that a follow-up meeting is scheduled for April 16 in Monterrico, reflecting an open-door approach and collaboration between Jujuy’s government and its municipalities.
Víctor González, mayor of El Carmen, described the discussion with Governor Sadir and other ministers as very positive for the Valles region. González said that joint actions were coordinated in areas such as infrastructure works, sports programs, and improvements in lighting and access in certain zones. He emphasized staying close to residents: “the Government works actively in strengthening its relationship with the community.” González also noted that progress was made toward forming a regional development agenda.
Other officials present included Federico Cardozo, Minister of Finance; along with mayors from Perico, Yala, Puesto Viejo, Barro Negro, Aguas Calientes, Monterrico, and Pampa Blanca.
