Governor of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir, met with Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, at Casa Rosada on April 8. The meeting was part of ongoing discussions between the national government and provincial leaders aimed at advancing a shared work agenda and seeking support for various parliamentary initiatives.
The talks focused on key items from the official legislative agenda. These included proposed changes to the Glacier Law and a project to strengthen private property rights. Other topics discussed were proposals related to eviction laws, rural land legislation, and tougher penalties including new criminal categories for migration-related offenses.
This meeting is part of a broader strategy by the national executive branch that has already involved recent talks between Santilli and other governors such as Juan Pablo Valdés of Corrientes, Claudio Poggi of San Luis, Alfredo Cornejo of Mendoza, and Ignacio Torres of Chubut. The aim is to build consensus in Congress using an approach similar to that used during debates over the 2026 Budget and legislative packages considered in extraordinary sessions.
The dialogue between Sadir and Santilli seeks to facilitate progress on projects promoted by the national government within parliament. Negotiations with provincial authorities are seen as crucial for moving forward with reforms proposed by officials.
