San Pedro de Jujuy officials have announced the official launch of the 2026 Corsos Sampedreños, set to begin on February 7. The announcement was made during a press conference attended by both provincial and municipal authorities.
The event, considered one of the most significant in the Yungas region, will feature 12 nights of parades and performances. Organizers confirmed that admission will remain free, aiming to reinforce its role as a cultural and tourism driver for Jujuy province.
During the presentation, speakers emphasized how the carnival has grown over the past decade. The efforts led by Mayor Julio Bravo were highlighted as central to this growth through consistent public policies that attract increasing numbers of visitors each year.
Gisela Arias, representing provincial support for cultural initiatives, said: “We firmly support the Corsos Sampedreños, one of the most important in our province that has not stopped growing in these last 10 years. It is essential to highlight Mayor Julio Bravo’s management, who has created public policies so that more visitors come to San Pedro every year with impeccable organization together with COMECOR and the municipal tourism area.”
She added: “Despite current challenges, joint work ensures all parade groups receive subsidies and support. Our commitment is to put San Pedro on the national agenda, proudly representing the Yungas region. We will be supporting them throughout the month.”
Ariel Bravo provided technical details about this year’s event: “We are just days away from starting. Thanks to promotion and community participation, these corsos grow year after year. For this edition, we have around 50 parade groups including special guests from Valles and northern Jujuy. There will be a total of 12 nights of celebration with prizes and recognition for artists. Most importantly, entry remains free so everyone can enjoy it.”
The official venue for all activities is San Pedro de Jujuy’s main circuit. About 50 artistic groups—including folk troupes, indigenous performers, and sayas—are expected to participate.
