The Municipality of San Salvador de Jujuy announced on March 27 that it will hold a 3×3 basketball event this Saturday, starting at 9 a.m., at the northern end of Parque San Martín. The event is open to U-15 and U-17 categories in male, female, and mixed formats. Live music, freestyle performances, and rapper showcases are also planned for the day.

Gustavo Hiruela, director general of Sports and Recreation, said, “On Saturday we are going to hold a ‘stop’ of 3×3 basketball at the northern end of Parque San Martín under the slogan ‘break the backboard.’ We invite everyone who plays basketball, both in clubs and recreationally, to join this proposal that will include female, male and mixed participation in the U-15 and U-17 categories.”

Subdirector Gustavo Caliva said that this discipline is growing steadily. “The mayor is promoting the construction of courts in different parts of the city such as Xibi Xibi and Bajo La Viña. In this context we take advantage of these spaces to promote these types of gatherings and invite all basketball lovers to participate,” he said.

This initiative highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities to encourage sports activities among youth through new infrastructure projects across various neighborhoods.

Organizers expect strong community participation given recent interest in expanding access to recreational facilities throughout San Salvador de Jujuy.
