The Municipality of San Salvador de Jujuy announced on Apr. 4 a free educational series titled “Conociendo la Historia,” focused on the life and work of Argentine sculptor Lola Mora and her connection to the province.
The program, organized by the Directorate General of Tourism, is open to all members of the public and does not require prior knowledge. Gabriela Lamas, Rosario Santos, and Marcos Cussi will lead the sessions.
According to organizers, the main goal is to explore Lola Mora’s history and her sculptures in Jujuy while encouraging appreciation for their artistic and cultural value. The initiative also aims to highlight heritage as a social construct that shapes community identity.
The training will consist of four meetings covering various topics related to Mora’s legacy and its influence on local heritage. Sessions begin on April 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., held in person at no cost for participants.
Registration must be completed in person at the Directorate General of Tourism located at General Necochea 565, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
