Seven people with disabilities have signed agreements for job training and inclusion, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health of Jujuy. The initiative involves young users from the Centro Modelo Integral de Rehabilitación (CEMIR) who will work at various branches of Heladerías Grido. This move renews a collaboration agreement aimed at providing employment opportunities.
Agustín Yécora, Secretary of Mental Health, Addictions and Disability, stated: “We are celebrating a new agreement that allows six people with disabilities to begin job training and one to join the Labor Inclusion Program (PIL), which is a step further in the workplace.” He emphasized the ongoing commitment to partnerships between public and private institutions to promote inclusion and independent living for people with disabilities.
Yécora also highlighted the collaborative effort involved in this process: “It is a huge effort, with many people working and supporting these processes—not only our teams but also the company, managers, the Agency, families, and fundamentally the beneficiaries themselves—strengthening this supported employment method, a health strategy that guarantees quality of life and inclusion.”
He further explained: “Labor inclusion is a fundamental axis of disability and rehabilitation that we address within the Strategic Health Plan. This is also health work; we do not only do it in hospitals or care settings. In this way, quality of life is strengthened and the possibility of disease or worsening conditions decreases because socialization and inclusion facilitate comprehensive improvement.” Yécora added that CEMIR has long worked under this model as part of the Provincial Rehabilitation Network, coordinating with various institutions to address different situations faced by people with disabilities.
