A sixteen-year-old was detained by the Santa Fe Police Investigations unit on Apr. 6, accused of covering up an armed attack at School No. 40 Mariano Moreno in San Cristóbal.

Authorities said the arrest took place near National Route No. 11, close to Nelson. Due to his age, the youth is considered legally responsible and could face charges as part of the ongoing investigation.

Sources involved in the case said that the teenager may have had prior knowledge of the attack, but it remains unclear what relationship he had with the shooter. The justice system will determine his level of responsibility and involvement.

The government of Santa Fe stated that this incident is part of a broader issue affecting areas beyond just their province, prompting intervention from specialized agencies.

In a related development, another adolescent was arrested in Sunchales for allegedly making threats about carrying out school attacks. Authorities are investigating whether these threats are connected to or influenced by recent events in San Cristóbal.

Officials say they continue to monitor similar cases closely as concerns about school safety grow across different regions.
