The Centro Cultural Culturarte will host a talk titled “Las Fuentes grabadas del Arte Colonial. La Serie Cuzqueña de Santa Rosa de Lima de Purmamarca” on Thursday, November 20 at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public and will take place at the cultural center.
Researcher Carlos Alberto Garcés will lead the session, focusing on the Santa Rosa de Lima series housed in the church of Purmamarca. Garcés plans to discuss the engraved sources that inspired these colonial artworks and explain how artists from the Cuzco School adapted and transformed European models into their own style.
According to organizers, “the activity is mainly aimed at art students but is also open to anyone interested in learning more about Jujuy’s colonial artistic heritage.”
This event highlights ongoing efforts by local institutions such as Centro Cultural Culturarte to promote awareness and appreciation of regional colonial art traditions.
