Club Atlético Talleres de Perico marked its 82nd anniversary on April 4, celebrating decades as a prominent institution in the province of Jujuy. Founded on April 4, 1944, the club is recognized for its deep roots and lasting influence within the local sports community.
The anniversary highlights Talleres de Perico’s journey from humble beginnings in a mechanical workshop to becoming an important figure in regional football. The club is known for building an identity based on effort, passion, and a strong sense of belonging among its members.
As part of the celebrations, the traditional locro event took place at the club’s micro-stadium. Organizers planned to prepare at least four pots of locro—a stew typical to Argentine gatherings—in tribute to “the four angels of the truck,” with hopes to cook even more and share with fans and residents from various neighborhoods across Perico.
The gathering was not only about honoring sporting achievements but also about strengthening ties with supporters who have helped maintain what many call “the essence of Expreso Azul.” Over time, this relationship has become central to both club culture and community life.
After more than eight decades since its founding, Talleres de Perico continues to serve as more than just a football team. It stands as a symbol of local identity and remains an important meeting point for generations living in Jujuy.
