More than 500 teachers and school leaders from the Puna region gathered at the Escuela de Frontera N° 7 in Abra Pampa for the First Teaching Congress of Region VII. The event, held under the theme “Teaching in diverse contexts: re-signifying educational practices in dialogue with the construction of teaching knowledge,” aimed to create opportunities for educators to share their pedagogical experiences and improve teaching methods through learning communities.
Griselda Arancibia, Director of Primary Education, attended the congress and stated, “Educating is a human and collective act that transcends; therefore this congress is an opportunity to share experiences and strengthen knowledge that enriches the teaching profession. Teaching in diverse contexts means teaching with confidence, sensitivity, and commitment to inspire and achieve an inclusive and quality school.”
The congress featured 65 presentations covering topics such as literacy, Andean culture, medicinal herbs, weaving, recycling, podcasts, artificial intelligence, programming, robotics, and inclusive educational management.
The event concluded with an artistic showcase where teachers and students from nearby schools performed dances, songs, and other presentations. This collective experience reaffirmed the commitment of educators to public education throughout the province.
A special tribute was paid to principals from 42 institutions in Region VII for their active participation in organizing the congress and ensuring all teachers could attend.
Organizers described this event as a starting point for improving classroom practices across Jujuy’s puna region through shared learning and valuing teachers’ expertise.
