Tieto has announced an agreement to sell Bekk Consulting AS, a Norwegian technology and management consulting firm, to private equity company Axcel. The transaction values Bekk at NOK 1.7 billion (about EUR 140 million), with the final price subject to standard closing adjustments. The sale is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.

Bekk Consulting, which employs around 600 people, was initially acquired by ErgoGroup in 2007 and later became part of Tieto Tech Consulting. Despite this, Bekk has continued to operate under its own brand in Norway’s consulting market. As of the end of the third quarter of 2025, Bekk reported revenue of NOK 1.056 billion and an operating profit (EBIT) of NOK 150 million over the previous twelve months.

The decision to divest comes as Tieto Tech Consulting shifts its strategy toward more streamlined and integrated operations. Proceeds from the sale will be used by Tieto to reduce debt and return capital to shareholders.

“We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Axcel. Bekk, with its notable position in Norway, has operated as an independent entity within Tieto Tech Consulting. As Tech Consulting is currently redefining its strategic focus, it became clear that allowing Bekk to continue independently is the best path forward for both parties,” said Endre Rangnes, President and CEO of Tieto.

“Bekk is one of the strongest technology and management consultancies in Norway. We’re delighted to work with Bekk to support its continued development as a leading digital transformation partner, and we appreciate our good collaboration with Tieto in reaching this agreement,” said Axcel Partner Lars Cordt.

DNB Carnegie acted as exclusive financial advisor for Tieto during the transaction, while Schjødt provided legal counsel.

Tieto recently adopted its new brand name in November 2025 but remains listed on stock exchanges in Helsinki, Stockholm, and Oslo. The company provides software and digital engineering services across various industries through specialized businesses such as Tieto Caretech, Banktech, Indtech, and Tech Consulting. With approximately 15,000 employees worldwide, Tieto reports annual revenues near EUR 2 billion.
