Tieto has entered into a framework agreement with Orange Business, designating the latter as a major provider of capacity and managed services. The transition will involve moving certain services from Tieto’s current provider to Orange Business, though the existing supplier will continue to work with Tieto outside the scope of this new agreement.
The deal covers all four business units of Tieto and its corporate-level IT services. According to the companies, Tieto Banktech is set to be the first business unit to migrate its services to Cloud Avenue, Orange Business’ sovereign European cloud platform, starting in the second half of 2026. Other units are expected to follow over an estimated two-year period.
Endre Rangnes, CEO of Tieto, stated: “Orange Business is an internationally renowned and trusted provider in this field, and their profile is matching overall well with our business priorities, including our aspiration to expand and strengthen our company’s footprint in Europe. Our collaboration is intended to deliver efficiency through standardized services, as well as a robust and modernized delivery model. These services play a vital role in our customer deliveries, and business continuity is the key design principle in the change we are now undertaking.”
Knut Grøvan, General Manager at Orange Business Digital Norway, commented: “At Orange Business, we are proud to be a trusted partner supporting Tieto’s growth across the Nordics and its strategic expansion across Europe. Through our Cloud Avenue platform, we provide a secure and compliant cloud foundation across multiple European countries, helping Tieto maintain full data control, resilience, and meet strict regulatory requirements in key industries such as banking, healthcare, and public services. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to trusted, resilient technology that supports Tieto’s ambitions in a complex digital landscape.”
No financial or further details about the agreement have been disclosed at this stage.
