A series of eight practical training classes, running from March 12 to April 30, aims to strengthen digital management within the provincial tourism sector. The initiative is a joint effort between the Secretariat of Tourism and the Ledesma Innovation Program, as part of the Innovación and Captur programs.
The Basic Digital Skills Tools course is designed to address specific needs identified in the sector, where proficiency with digital platforms has become a key factor for managing tourism businesses. Participants are working hands-on with instructor Daniel Veliz to learn how to use Gmail, Drive, Forms, Calendar, Maps, and Lens—tools that help optimize daily tasks and improve service quality.
“Digital skills today are an indispensable part of any tourism venture that wants to grow. This type of training gives our people real tools to organize better, communicate better, and offer better services to visitors,” said SofÃa Van Balen Blanken, director of Tourism.
The program is coordinated by Micaela Cuenca, coordinator of the Innovation and Technology Program at the Directorate of Institutional and Legal Affairs at Ledesma. The institution has supported this initiative since last year through coordinated work with the provincial Secretariat of Tourism.
“We are building a more competitive tourism sector and that requires continuous training. That entrepreneurs have access to these free and high-quality trainings is a concrete commitment to developing tourism throughout the province,” Van Balen Blanken said.
