The reopening of the traditional “Glorieta” in Plaza Belgrano will take place this Sunday at 7:30 p.m., marking the start of official events for City Week and the 433rd anniversary of its founding, according to an announcement made by Mayor Raúl Jorge on April 10.
The event is set to feature an artistic performance and aims to bring together families from across the city. It also marks the beginning of a series of major celebrations planned for City Week.
Mayor Raúl Jorge said, “It will be a day of celebration because we are starting City Week, during which there will be great events. We want to invite all families to participate in a high-level event and discover new services that will be offered in this sector of the former Plaza de Armas, now Plaza Belgrano, a space with great historical value.”
Jorge also highlighted the importance of Plaza Belgrano by saying, “It is probably one of the squares in the country with more significance in the fight for independence, with General Belgrano’s presence, a Cabildo that today is a jewel to experience, along with Paseo Sarmiento and many other attractions.”
The reopening ceremony reflects ongoing efforts by local authorities to preserve historic spaces while providing new amenities for residents and visitors.
