The Tren Solar announced on May 10 that it will debut a new cultural event called “Un Viaje de Película” as part of the Festival Internacional de Cine de las Alturas. The experience is set to begin on May 15 at 6:30 p.m., departing from Estación Volcán and traveling through some of Jujuy’s most notable landscapes before arriving in Purmamarca at 7:20 p.m.

The initiative aims to connect travelers with the culture of northern Argentina by combining art and audiovisual presentations during the journey. Organizers say that future editions will feature different artistic proposals designed for this purpose.

During the train ride, there will be a special presentation titled “Horror Andino,” an offering from the festival that brings together stories of horror, fantasy, and science fiction inspired by Andean myths, beliefs, and settings. Filmmakers Gonzalo Calzada, Roxana Ramos, Fernando Díaz, and Patricio Artero are scheduled to participate in this experience. They will share their perspectives on genre cinema related to regional identities and narratives.

Upon arrival in Purmamarca, activities continue with screenings of the short films “Serafina” and “El Susurro” in the main square. This will be followed by an open discussion with attendees to encourage exchange between creators, spectators, and local communities.

Tickets for this special event can only be purchased at official Tren Solar ticket offices or via WhatsApp at +54 9 3885 75-7366. Organizers describe “Un Viaje de Película” as a new way to experience Tren Solar through themed journeys that turn each trip into a story unfolding along the route.
