Starting November 10, the Hospital “San Isidro Labrador” in Monterrico will allow patients to request appointments through WhatsApp, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Health of Jujuy. This initiative is part of the province’s ongoing efforts to decentralize and improve access to health services as outlined in its Strategic Health Plan II.

The WhatsApp appointment system has been gradually introduced across various health centers since late November 2024. It is already available at several facilities, including Centro de Especialidades Sur (CES)/Hospital Snopek in Alto Comedero; Paterson Hospital in San Pedro; Zabala Hospital in Perico; Gallardo Hospital in Palpalá; Orías Hospital in Libertador; Sequeiros and Pablo Soria Hospitals in San Salvador de Jujuy; Nuestra Señora del Carmen Hospital in El Carmen; Presbítero Zegada Hospital in Fraile Pintado; and San Miguel Hospital in Yuto.

Patients wishing to book an appointment at the Monterrico hospital should save the number 388 4567025 and initiate a chat between Monday and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. After sending a message, they will receive an automated response stating: “Welcome to the Patient Management Center of the Ministry of Health of Jujuy! I will be your virtual assistant. To request an appointment, please enter the link corresponding to your hospital.” Patients must then click on https://hlabrador.oloapp.site/ provided within the message.

Once on the website, users are prompted with: “Appointment management for Monterrico Hospital. Select the operation you wish to perform,” with options including requesting, rescheduling or canceling an appointment, or booking a follow-up visit. The process requires entering personal information such as national ID number, full name, date of birth, address, type of appointment needed, and specialty.

After submitting this information, patients can review their data before receiving another message: “Please wait while we forward your request to an operator. Thank you for your time.” An operator then confirms availability and provides details about the scheduled appointment.

The WhatsApp line only accepts written messages during business hours and does not handle calls or other forms of contact. If someone is not registered within the public health system’s records when attempting to book via WhatsApp, they must go directly to their nearest hospital with proper documentation.

Appointments at Monterrico hospital can be requested for specialties such as social work assistance, general medicine, gynecology, dentistry, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychology, ophthalmology, speech therapy (fonoaudiology), physiotherapy (fisioterapia), endocrinology—and for procedures like electrocardiograms (ECG), X-rays (rayos), and laboratory tests.
